Mississauga Townhouses

First time home buyers can realize several benifits of living in a Mississauga townhome.  There are two forms of townhomes in the Greater Toronto area that dominate the housing market.   Condominium Townhomes, and Freehold Townhomes.

Question:  How do townhouses differ from condominiums?

Answer:  While most condominiums are apartments, a  mississauga townhouse is attached to one or more houses and can run the gamut from duplexes and triplexes to communities with hundreds of homes. Buyers separately own their homes and the land on which the houses sit. With a condominium, the unit owners jointly own the land and this common interest cannot be separated from the others.
Mississauga Townhouses can be structured in many ways. Some, particularly huge communities, have common areas ? such as swimming pools ? that are similar to condominiums.  The following are different variations of townhomes.

Condominium Townhomes  -  The purchaser owns the interior of the unit, while the condominium corporation owns the building itself.  The corporation is jointly owned by all the unit owners, and charges the unit owners fees for general maintenance and major repairs.

Freehold Townhomes  -  Freehold Townhomes are exclusively owned, without any condominium fees or complexities.

Stacked Townhomes - have multiple units vertically (typically two), normally each with its own private entrance from the street.

University Townhomes - cater to student's needs, and are conveniently located nearby their university/college campus.

Most mississauga townhomes are either 2 or 3 stories high, however there are also multi-level townhome units.  Mississauga Townhomes are a more affordable alternative to traditional detached homes, and should seriously be considered by first time home buyers.
